Head Massage
I have no idea how much fixing eye strain really does for sleep,
but head massage is incredible.
What Is It?
"Eye strain" is not one thing. Dry eyes, an ache behind the eyes, heavy eyelids. This is about the heavy eyelids.
Changing where I massage made an enormous difference.
I used to press the inner corners of my eyebrows, or pinch along my brow with both hands. Small circles, gradually moving up toward the hairline. It helped.
Then I copied the massage my hairdresser does on me. Night and day difference.
How to Do It
You just press and drag along the pressure points on your head (I assume that is what they are). Easiest while shampooing.
- Knead the spot a couple of inches above your temples, the one that hurts in a good way.
- Rub back and forth across the area just in front of the crown of your head.
- Keep going until you have had enough.
Recommended
Get one of those silicone scalp brushes with soft spikes, made for shampooing.
Five minutes in the shower and the heavy feeling is gone. I come out feeling like I could take on anything.
